How You'll Succeed as a CAD Manager As a CAD Manager, you protect quality while enabling scale. In this role, you'll:

Requirements

  • 7+ years of CAD drafting experience in HVAC, mechanical, or construction environments.
  • 2+ years leading or supervising a CAD team.
  • Advanced proficiency in AutoCAD and discipline-specific CAD tools.
  • Strong knowledge of construction documents and shop drawings.
  • Experience supporting schedule-driven construction projects.
  • Proven ability to manage standards and quality control.
  • Strong communication skills with project managers, engineers, and field teams.

Nice To Haves

  • Technical school, associate degree, or formal CAD training.
  • Industry certifications related to CAD or BIM.

Responsibilities

  • Lead daily CAD operations and balance team workloads.
  • Hold short team check-ins to align priorities and surface issues.
  • Coordinate weekly with project managers to match schedules.
  • Maintain and enforce CAD standards and templates.
  • Review drawings before release to eliminate rework.
  • Track CAD hours and flag schedule risks early.
