Echodyne is seeking a Manufacturing CAD Engineer to join our fast-growing team. The role will report to the Director, Manufacturing Test Engineering ROLE OVERVIEW We are seeking a detail-oriented Manufacturing CAD Engineer to transform complex product designs into high-precision, production-ready documentation and custom tooling. You will serve as the vital link between design and the shop floor, ensuring every drawing and BOM meets rigorous GD&T standards while collaborating across teams to optimize manufacturing efficiency.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience)
  • 3+ years of CAD design experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Proficiency in 3D CAD software
  • Strong understanding of manufacturing processes (machining, fabrication, injection molding, etc.)
  • Working knowledge of GD&T and tolerance analysis
  • Experience creating and managing BOMs
  • Strong problem-solving and communication skills

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with ERP or PLM systems
  • Lean manufacturing or Six Sigma familiarity
  • Experience with prototype builds and production support

Responsibilities

  • Develop detailed 2D drawings and 3D models using CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD, Inventor, CATIA)
  • Translate product designs into manufacturing-ready documentation
  • Create and maintain bills of materials (BOMs) and manufacturing drawings
  • Develop and maintain custom fixture designs
  • Ensure drawings meet company standards, tolerances, and GD&T requirements
  • Support production by troubleshooting design and manufacturing issues
  • Implement design revisions based on engineering changes or process improvements
  • Collaborate with manufacturing, quality, and supply chain teams to optimize cost and efficiency
  • Support prototype development and testing activities
  • Maintain engineering documentation and version control
  • Ensure compliance with safety, regulatory, and quality standards
