Summary of Position This position will utilize knowledge of CAD software (SolidWorks) to assist Engineers with design and development of small tools and machines. Draft validation protocols & reports, and coordinate/execute necessary testing.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering or other technical field of study OR Five (5) years engineering experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Experience with SolidWorks
  • Customer focus, innovative, results oriented.
  • Experience in a regulated environment.
  • Ability to solve problems and conflicts, work well with others and demonstrate teamwork.
  • Demonstrates a solid work ethic and positive demeanor/attitude.
  • Demonstrates strong written and oral communication.
  • Ability to translate technical documents to manufacturing operators.
  • Ability to be flexible and deal with changing priorities.
  • Strong communication skills across all levels of the organization, both internal and external.
  • Take initiative in learning new technologies and materials
  • Occasionally requires light physical effort as in periods of prolonged standing, sitting at files or work tables or bending, stooping or reaching and/or occasional lifting of light items (i.e. up to 30 lbs). May require some exposure to chemicals used in manufacturing processes.

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, qualify, and validate manufacturing processes and tooling/equipment
  • Support facility transfer projects and quality systems tactical plans that ensure seamless operations
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives that enhance safety, boost efficiency, and deliver cost reductions
  • Thrive in cross-functional project teams while independently managing and executing critical project tasks
  • Conduct comprehensive mechanical/electrical testing and perform detailed Gage R&R studies
  • Apply statistical analysis expertise to process capability assessments and Design of Experiments
  • Troubleshoot complex processes, equipment, and quality systems while developing and implementing effective corrective and preventive actions
  • Provide sound Engineering judgment
  • Demonstrate expert knowledge of materials for plant product designs within your areas of responsibility
  • Qualify and validate new materials and suppliers to ensure optimal product performance
  • Effectively train manufacturing teams on specifications and processes, empowering them for success
  • Author comprehensive Change Requests, protocols, technical reports, and Authorization for Expenditure documents
  • Serve as the vital technical interface between engineering and manufacturing teams, ensuring seamless communication
