Requirements

  • Associate degree in Drafting, Engineering Technology, or related field, or equivalent hands-on experience.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD (Civil 3D and/or MicroStation experience is a plus).
  • Strong understanding of civil and structural construction drawings.
  • Ability to read and interpret DOT standards, plans, and specifications.
  • Detail-oriented with the ability to work efficiently under tight deadlines.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.

Nice To Haves

  • 2+ years of experience in civil or heavy highway construction drafting.
  • Experience with structural steel detailing is a strong plus.
  • Familiarity with bridge construction, shoring, or temporary support designs.
  • Experience with 3D modeling tools such as Revit or Navisworks.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and revise 2D and 3D construction drawings using AutoCAD.
  • Develop site plans, bridge layouts, utility details, erosion control plans, temporary works, and construction staging diagrams.
  • Assist estimators and engineers in quantity takeoffs, plan interpretation, and means-and-methods drawings.
  • Produce as-built drawings, logistics plans, and visual aids to support proposals and project execution.
  • Maintain organized and up-to-date CAD files, templates, and drawing standards.
  • Conduct occasional site visits to gather field data and verify dimensions.
  • Coordinate with multiple departments to ensure drawing accuracy and real-world constructability.
