About The Position

The CAD Drafter position at WET involves supporting the Product Development and Engineering Group by detailing 3D models and creating 2D drawings and documentation packages for complex underwater assemblies used in world-class fountains. The role requires a strong understanding of mechanical principles and drafting standards, particularly in the context of water-related design and technology.

Requirements

• 9+ years of experience with Computer Aided Design and Drafting.
• 7+ years of SolidWorks experience.
• Basic understanding of mechanical principles and the structural capabilities of stainless steel.
• Familiarity with metal fabrication processes (cutting, forming, welding).
• Knowledge of drafting standards, tolerances, weld callouts and BOM's.
• Knowledge of and ability to apply ASME Y14.5 Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing Standards.
• Knowledge of and ability to apply ASME Y14 Drawing Standards for formatting and layout of engineering drawings.
• Experience working with QuickBooks on data importation and construction of Bills of Materials.

Responsibilities

• Use SolidWorks to design and detail various sheet metal, spun, machined parts and assemblies, wire harnesses and cabling.
• Detail and dimension injection molded parts.
• Revise existing products to meet new requirements or to make improvements.
• Design and create drawings and other support documents.
• Perform drafting work including making drawings for fabrication and support documentation for catalogs and web pages.
• Assist engineers in conducting statistical tolerance stack ups to determine critical dimensions.
• Work with documentation control to load BOMs and drawings into QuickBooks.
• Support the creation and processing of engineering releases and change orders.
