About The Position

The CAD Detailer prepares the general arrangement, cross sectional, detail drawings, flow diagrams, weld maps of units and their components using Autodesk Inventor. Alters lay out and detail drawings to reflect engineering changes. Based upon departmental work load may perform or assist with the work of other classifications within the department.

Requirements

  • Associate's degree with 3-D modeling, Autodesk Inventor and/or Solidworks studies/experience.
  • 1+ years of CAD experience.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Must be willing to work overtime as required.
  • Must have proficiency in MS office applications including spreadsheet, database, and specialized application software.
  • Ability and willingness to abide by set policies and/or safety programs established by GHM, our clients, and/or regulatory agencies which govern our performance and behavior in the normal course of our work while on GHM or the client's property or job site.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills required.

  • Proficient in engineering application software such as Autodesk Inventor; the ability to learn analytical software such as ANSYS, CFX, etc.

  • Demonstrates recognition of organization's requirements for the highest quality product with the most efficient utilization of labor and materials: consistently achieves schedule goals; displays initiative, focus, and sense of urgency; demonstrates flexibility in discharging multiple/changing priorities.
  • Must be able to work in the U.S without sponsorship.

Responsibilities

  • Creates plans, shop details and incorporates customer revisions as required.
  • Consistently meets customer's quality requirements and expectations.
  • Create lay-outs using Autodesk Inventor
  • Assist in construction of BOM's.
  • Detail designs and drawings made by engineers, designers, and drafters to fabrication level
  • Can properly read all blueprint and work instructions
  • Will provide instruction and guidance to employees assigned to assist and as required.
  • Maintains a clean work area with no clutter.
  • Practices safety at all times while at work.
  • Follows safety policies and procedures and speaks up when others are non-compliant.
  • Wears all safety equipment for area of work.
  • Keeps an open mind to others continuous improvement suggestions
  • Bring continuous improvement suggestions to the appropriate team member.
  • Demonstrates initiative, positive attitude, and enthusiasm for the job
  • Will follow up with supervisor on professional development goals and opportunities
  • Takes an interest and lets it be known that they have a desire to grow with the company
