As a CAD Designer at TGP you will be primarily responsible for executing engineered-to-order projects throughout the design and manufacturing lifecycle. Through extensive use of AutoCAD, Inventor and/or Creo 3D software you will create 2D/3D models of new architectural products, create assembly and part drawings, bills of materials and exploded view illustrations. The position will be part of a high performing and collaborative engineering team. You will work closely with other internal departments to ensure the same superior quality is captured. In depth knowledge of AutoCAD and Autodesk Inventor (or Creo) and extensive use of Excel and other calculation tools are required. Soft Tech V6 Configurator or having experience with a design configurator experience is a bonus. Extensive prior experience in architectural and/or manufacturing environments will be crucial to your success.

  • Design and deliver revenue project engineering documentation to the highest standards and in line with TGP processes. This must be delivered in a timely manner within the engineering cycle lead times.
  • Manage and execute your engineered-to-order backlog to drive throughput of orders in a quality manner.
  • Provide exceptional internal and external customer service.
  • As a team contributor, aid in the creation, development, and maintenance of Standard Operating Procedures for the Engineering department including but not limited to; engineering best practices, standardizing workflow, project and product specific methodologies, documentation and revision control.
  • This role will focus on ETO degree of difficulty’s 0,1, and 2.
  • Site visits to evaluate installation or products in the field.
  • Technology degree preferred or equivalent experience related to drafting & design.
  • GD&T (geometric dimensioning & tolerancing) experience.
  • Extensive experience in CAD design and 3D solid modeling in a fast paced, high quality, manufacturing environment.
  • Advanced computer skills, including at minimum: Autodesk Inventor 2012 or newer, Autodesk AutoCAD 2012 or newer, Creo, MS Office.
  • Prepare fabrication (part) drawings, or coordinate drawing info for conversion to CNC programing.
  • Ability to read, analyze, interpret, and create complex documents, specifications, blueprints, and architectural drawings.
  • A driven self-starter dedicated to high quality and process improvement.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • An ability to quickly grasp complex technical concepts and filter key information.
  • Ability to quickly read, learn, analyze and interpret documents and specifications.
  • Ability to build team relationships and actively extract key information from multiple resources.
  • Strong planning and organization skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with an attention to detail.
  • Majority of work involves sitting at a computer for extended periods of time in an office environment.
  • Periodic visits to the manufacturing shop are required for consulting with others on projects under construction.
  • The noise level in the office environment is low moderate.
  • The noise level in the manufacturing area is moderate to high.
