About The Position

Rocky Mountain Stone, New Mexico's premier stone fabricator, is seeking a skilled and detail-oriented CAD Designer to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in computer-aided design, an understanding of general construction, a great eye for design, and the capability to interact with detail-oriented customers. This role involves collaborating with project managers, template techs, designers, and contractors to create precise countertop layouts and accurate tool path programming for CNC machines, ensuring that designs are visually appealing, functional, and meet industry standards.

Requirements

• Proficiency in CAD software including AutoCAD, Flow Works, and AlphaCAM is required.
• Strong technical skills to effectively communicate design concepts and specifications.
• Ability to build and assemble components based on detailed designs.
• Excellent attention to detail with a strong understanding of design principles.
• Previous experience in a similar role or relevant educational background in CAD work and design is preferred.
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work collaboratively within a team environment.
• Familiarity with construction industry standards and best practices related to drafting and design.

Responsibilities

• Create detailed 2D drawings using CAD software such as AutoCAD, Flow Works, AlphaCam, and SlabSmith.
• Coordinate with Template Techs to ensure accuracy of shop drawings and field dimensions.
• Provide color layouts for customer review and approval.
• Identify seam locations, setbacks, sink & faucet size/locations and draw accordingly.
• Create CNC programs through proprietary CAM software.
• Maintain organized records of all design files and documentation for easy access by team members.
