The Milling Dental Technician is responsible for operating the afternoon and evening milling department within the dental laboratory. This ensures the efficient and accurate production of dental prosthetics using milling technology and maintains high-quality standards in all aspects of production. The milling technician will also coordinate with other departments and technicians to ensure seamless workflow and timely delivery of products.

  • Milling and nesting
  • Responsible for milling and nesting of daily cases, crown and bridge, bars, and hybrid
  • Attend training from team leads and managers, provide guidance, and support to fellow team members
  • Ensure that performance and products are evaluated and adapted when needed with feedback from leadership.
  • Production Oversight:
  • Ensure efficient use of milling machines and equipment.
  • Monitor production schedules and workflow to meet deadlines.
  • Implement and maintain quality control procedures within shift.
  • Technical Expertise:
  • Operate and troubleshoot milling machines.
  • Ensure accurate and precise milling of dental prosthetics (crowns, bridges, inlays, onlays, etc.).
  • Stay updated with the latest milling technology and industry trends.
  • Quality Assurance:
  • Inspect completed work to ensure it meets quality standards for next shift.
  • Address and rectify any issues or defects in milled products.
  • Maintain records of production and quality control metrics.
  • Coordination and Communication:
  • Coordinate with other departments, leadership, and team members (e.g., design, fabrication, quality control) to ensure seamless operations.
  • Communicate effectively with the Milling Manager and team lead.
  • Liaise with fellow technicians in the department to ensure effective communication is being followed.
  • Inventory and Maintenance:
  • Familiarize all inventory of materials and milling supply procedures
  • Familiarize with all maintenance and calibration of milling machines.
  • Ensure compliance with safety standards and regulations.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in dental laboratory work, with a focus on milling.
  • Familiar with CAD/CAM software and milling machine operation.
  • Strong time management skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail and precision in work.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to troubleshoot and resolve technical issues.
  • Knowledge of dental materials and prosthetics.
  • Ability to work in a laboratory setting, including standing for long periods.
  • Manual dexterity for handling small tools and components.
  • Visual acuity for detailed work and inspection.
