About The Position

The CAD/Building Information Modeling (BIM) Specialist will be responsible for helping develop innovative CAD/BIM software solutions that optimize business processes, delivering demonstrable business value (utilizing a wide range of industry leading technologies). The role will also involve providing support services to the business in terms of specialist CAD support, creation of BIM objects and full BIM modelling as required. It will also involve providing support to end users of the various systems (e.g., Revit, ArchiCAD and TeklaStructures).

Requirements

Experience of the construction industry, Built Environment and the structural steel or cladding industry.
Experience of current UK and Ireland BIM Legislation including Standards, methods, and Procedures, naming conventions, documentation etc.
5 years+ knowledge and experience of at least 1 no. 3D modelling system - preferably Revit, ArchiCAD and/or TeklaStructures.
Experience working in an Architectural Design office environment, with knowledge of drawing office procedures, manuals, detailing and modelling processes.
Experience with collaboration between teams in the design process and between different CAD and 3D modelling technologies.
Solid understanding of BIM, IFC and COBIE standards.

Nice To Haves

Knowledge of working with other CAD systems (e.g., Solidworks, AutoCAD, Inventor, Radan, Archicad etc.)
Knowledge of working with other BIM compatible platforms or IFC viewers (e.g., Navisworks, Solibri, Tekla BIMsight).
Experience with customizing CAD platforms either in the native CAD Platform or via an application interface.
Familiarity with or knowledge of 3D visualization tools such as Photoworks, Showcase, 3DS Max etc. would be advantageous.
Background in Construction Studies, Architectural Technology, Building Information Modelling and Management or Mechanical Engineering would be of benefit.
Experience dealing with the conceptual design industry would be an advantage.

Responsibilities

To confidently assist and motivate the project delivery teams, ensuring that agreed objectives / deliverables are met in a timely manner to budget - demonstrating excellent stakeholder management skills throughout the entire project life cycle.
In addition to the above, the role will also involve providing assistance to the CAD/CAM/BIM Manager - and will therefore involve additional duties such in an assistant manager capacity.
Help Develop innovative CAD/BIM software solutions that optimize business processes.
Automate & streamline CAD/CAM/BIM - both internally within Kingspan, and externally with clients (e.g., Architects, Designers, Cladding & Structural Steel contractors).
Help make it easier for customers to do business with Kingspan and facilitate easy specification and use of Kingspan products with the architectural design community.
Provide Technical Support to customers who use Revit and ArchiCAD for designing, detailing, and ordering.
Provide Technical Support, assistance, and training to internal teams on the use of both standard and bespoke solutions including Revit, ArchiCAD and TeklaStructures
Help manage and maintain our library of available 3D BIM content on various platforms (Revit, Tekla, ArchiCAD, IFC) - including content creation.
Help specify, test, and manage Kingspan's online BIM component configurator and work closely with Cadenas/Co Builder and Kingspan Group as needed.
Keep up to date with all CAD/CAM/BIM technologies, legislation, and best practice.
Represent Kingspan at BIM events and seminars.
Work closely with key customers and designers to research current best practices, receive feedback, and help with strategic company decisions regarding CAD/BIM interaction.
Help manage Kingspan BIM content on various hosting platforms (e.g., Bimstore, TeklaWarehouse etc.)
