About The Position

Eaton’s ES GEIS BLD division is currently seeking a Cable Tray Welder- 3rd Shift at our location in Sherman, TX. The core hours are 10:00pm to 6:00am. The rate for this position is $22.71/hour + $1.20/hour shift differential per hour. Please note the salary information shown above is a general guideline only. What you’ll do: Operate production equipment specifically for the welding and fabrication of products. Set up, understand and proficiently operate all welding equipment. Troubleshoot various and appropriate machine problems. ID and tag shop orders with the product. Retrieve/enter data into the system. Ensure quality and proper documentation on all parts. Maintain components and supplies as required to operate efficiently. Weld components based on print specifications. Perform 5S & Continuous Improvement activities.

Requirements

  • Must have a High School Diploma or equivalent from an accredited institution
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship
  • Solid math, communication, analytical, and reasoning skills
  • Working knowledge of weld operations, including MIG, TIG of stainless steel and/or aluminum
  • Ability to lift 50 lbs occasionally to frequently (33-66%) and up to 75 lbs. occasionally by stooping, reaching, and bending with or without accommodation
  • Ability to stand for eight hours plus while performing repetitious tasks with or without accommodation
  • Ability to read blueprints and use simple measuring tools
  • Ability to follow directions, work independently, and pay close attention to details
  • Work as part of a team having responsibility for assembling an entire product or component of a product
  • Ability to reach, grasp and manipulate
  • Ability to work mandatory overtime, including Saturdays, as required by business need
  • Requires PPE to include safety glasses, steel-toe shoes, leather gloves, and hearing protection (as required in high-noise areas)
  • Environment exposure includes sharp objects, pinch points, oil, and sparks.

Nice To Haves

  • Minimum of one-year mig/tig welding
  • AWS Weld Certified
  • Minimum of one (1) year utilizing blueprints (AWS weld symbols) and using simple measuring tools
  • Basic computer skills
