About The Position
A Coaxial Cable Technician at MoldCable INC is responsible for the installation, maintenance, and repair of coaxial cables utilized in telecommunications, which include services for cable television, internet, and phone. This position requires the technician to work in various environments, including residential, commercial, and occasionally industrial settings, ensuring that the infrastructure for these services is properly installed and functioning. The technician will report directly to the Installation Supervisor or Operations Manager, playing a crucial role in maintaining the quality and reliability of telecommunications services. The technician's primary responsibilities include installing and configuring coaxial cables, connectors, and related equipment for new service installations. This involves testing and ensuring the proper functionality of installed cables and equipment, as well as mounting hardware such as cable boxes, modems, and routers. The technician will also be required to run coaxial cables through walls, ceilings, crawl spaces, and other hard-to-reach areas, demonstrating both technical skill and physical dexterity. In addition to installation, the technician will diagnose and troubleshoot issues with existing coaxial cable systems, repairing or replacing damaged or malfunctioning cables, connectors, and equipment as necessary. Routine maintenance checks will be performed to prevent future issues, ensuring that all systems remain operational and efficient. Customer service is a vital aspect of this role, as the technician will interact with customers to understand their service needs and provide effective solutions. Educating customers on how to operate and troubleshoot basic issues with their cable and internet equipment is also part of the job. Clear and concise documentation of work performed is essential, as is maintaining accurate records of installations, repairs, and maintenance tasks. Safety and compliance are paramount in this role. The technician must follow all safety protocols to ensure a safe working environment and adhere to local, state, and federal regulations regarding cable installation. All installations must meet company and industry standards, and the technician will be responsible for providing reports to supervisors regarding completed work and any issues encountered.
