About The Position

TEKsystems is seeking a Data Center Cabling Technician to support structured cabling and fiber installations in a data center or commercial environment. This technician will be responsible for fiber routing, rack-and-stack work, and maintaining clean, organized, and standards-compliant cabling infrastructure. The ideal candidate is flexible with scheduling and has strong attention to detail.

Requirements

Minimum 6 months of experience in data center or commercial cabling environments.
Experience with structured cabling and fiber installation.
Ability to read and follow technical documentation and labeling standards.
Strong attention to detail and commitment to high-quality workmanship.
Ability to work day or night shifts as required.
Availability to work any day of the week, including weekends.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Nice To Haves

Prior experience working in data center or telecommunications environments.
Familiarity with industry cabling standards and best practices.

Responsibilities

Interpret cable maps, labeling systems, and technical documentation to ensure accurate routing and installation.
Perform rack and stack of network and server equipment within racks and cabinets in accordance with site and industry standards.
Pull, route, and stage fiber trunks, including high-count fiber (144‑count and 288‑count bundles).
Install and manage fiber patch cords to support network connectivity.
Dress and secure cabling to match designated pathway types such as basket tray or fiber runner systems.
Maintain clean, organized, and standards-compliant cable installations.
Follow safety guidelines and quality standards at all times.
