Requirements

3+ years of related telecommunications experience
3+ years of experience working as a Cable Technician within the DOD environment
Bachelor’s Degree in a related technical discipline, or the equivalent combination of education, technical training, or work experience
Related certifications for Fiber Optic Cable and CAT6 Cable Installation
Must possess a Secret clearance

Responsibilities

Familiar with BICSI rules, regulations, and standards.
Knowledge in the use of network cabling test equipment including network testers, copper cable testers, fiber OTDRs and fiber power meters.
Analyze, administer, and maintain telecommunications and network cabling infrastructure.
Ensure the baseline configuration of all network assets and point-to-point circuits, are documented, and configured according to DoD and JSP engineering standards.
Ensure all systems are properly baselined, tested, and validated in accordance with DISA’s STIG prior to deployment.
Conduct regular audits and quality checks to ensure accuracy and completeness of network assets and configurations.
Use cable testing equipment, such as cable testers, multimeters, and optical power meters.
Familiarity with cable management techniques to ensure neat and organized cable runs.
Provide a basic understanding of IP networking concepts, including TCP/IP, subnetting, and VLANs.
Ability to work at heights and in confined spaces, adhering to safety protocols at all times.
