About The Position

We are hiring Level 1–2 Data Center Technicians / Cable Technicians with a mix of inside plant (ISP) and outside plant (OSP) experience to support a large, enterprise‑scale data center environment. This role is ideal for technicians who enjoy hands‑on infrastructure work and want exposure to mission‑critical facilities. The position is approximately 60% inside plant work and 40% outside fiber work, supporting data center construction, operations, and ongoing infrastructure maintenance. The Data Center Technician will support the installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of physical infrastructure across both inside and outside plant environments. This role plays a key part in ensuring the reliability, performance, and scalability of a high‑availability data center. The ideal candidate has experience with cabling, hardware installs, and structured infrastructure in large‑scale technical environments.

Requirements

  • Prior experience in a data center, large enterprise, or mission‑critical environment
  • Knowledge of structured cabling standards and fiber optic systems
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical documentation
  • Familiarity with data center environmental systems such as HVAC, backup power, and fire suppression
  • Strong troubleshooting skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to work independently and follow change management processes

  • Low Voltage Apprentice license (or ability to obtain), including one of the following: • LV‑G – Low voltage work under 90 volts (4,000 hours) • LV‑C – Low voltage communication systems under 90 volts (500 hours)

Responsibilities

  • Install, configure, and maintain data center hardware including racks, servers, network equipment, and power distribution units (PDUs)
  • Perform rack‑and‑stack work and structured cabling (copper and fiber) to industry standards
  • Troubleshoot hardware, cabling, and connectivity issues to minimize service interruptions
  • Support network and system teams with hardware deployment and integration
  • Conduct routine inspections of equipment and environments, including cooling and power systems
  • Support the installation and maintenance of conduits, pathways, and external cabling infrastructure
  • Route, terminate, and test fiber optic and copper cabling between buildings and network demarcation points
  • Inspect and maintain outside plant infrastructure to ensure long‑term reliability
  • Coordinate with contractors and vendors during installation or repair activities
  • Maintain accurate documentation of cable routes, terminations, and infrastructure updates
