About The Position

This is a critical position supporting the Space Systems Company in Denver, CO working directly with our internal and external customers. Candidate will be the lead responsible for campus wide Protected Distributions Systems (PDS). Candidate will work directly with Lockheed Martin Facilities, Network infrastructure and Physical Security personnel to gather requirements, to engineer changes, and to maintain documentation of the campus PDS. Additionally, the candidate will assume other Networking responsibilities. This individual will be part of a small networking team supporting a variety of classified areas and networks. LM Space classified copper and fiber infrastructure supporting numerous programs. The candidate will be responsible for the management, maintenance, and tracking of the classified cable infrastructure. This includes managing new cable infrastructure projects. An active TS/SCI and Polygraph is required. After-hours support and non-standard work shifts are periodically required. Candidate must be a U.S. Citizen and have active TS/SCI security clearance.

Requirements

  • Involvement/Experience with Engineering and Installation of Protected Distribution Systems
  • Demonstrate a strong working knowledge of network engineering disciplines such as:
  • Knowledge of general networking principles
  • Experience with Routers, Switches, Firewalls and routing and switching protocols.
  • Perform diagnostics, troubleshoot PDS network issues, determine root cause, and recommend strategies for repair
  • Familiarity with Government PDS Instruction CNSSI No. 7003 Sept 13
  • Familiarity with Government Red/Black Installation Guidance CNSSAM Tempest_01_13
  • Familiarity with installation practices for Red/Black cabling separation for Secure Areas
  • Familiarity/Experience with Fiber Optic Intrusion Detection solutions for PDS Systems
  • Works well in a team environment
  • Knowledge of Microsoft office suite applications (Word, Excel, Visio, Pinnacle Software, and Outlook)
  • Proficient with the operation of CAT5/6 copper cabling and fiber optic, termination, and test equipment such as Fluke, EXFO, NetScout, Corning, Fujikura, and similar test gear.
  • Strong work ethic and attention to detail required. Able to communicate and work well as part of a team and independently.

Responsibilities

  • Support of a campus wide PDS System and its associated Network and Sensing entities.
  • Servicing multiple government and program users involving design, development installations, maintenance, operations, control, and documentation
  • Participate in customer reviews in support of new or changing requirements, System outages and Security impacts
  • Participate in customer system testing and validation
  • Perform installations and upgrades to Cisco and Juniper operating systems in accordance with established policies, procedures, and agreements.
  • Maintain Telecom closets and verify/provide corrective actions needed to remediate PDS and Red/Black separation issues to bring infrastructure into compliance.
  • Managing all Telecom cabling projects for any new construction and remodel projects within the secure areas. This includes identifying cabling requirements, writing the orders for the subcontractors, attending Facilities construction meetings for all classified infrastructure projects, and providing oversight until project completion.
  • Attend the weekly SSC Telecom Cable meeting with cable subcontractor and unclassified Telecom representatives to ensure all projects are identified, coordinated, and completed in a timely manner.
  • Work with current classified network team, Computer Security, and cabling technicians to label existing copper and fiber infrastructure end to end within the Waterton campus and Denver metro area.
  • Maintain fiber circuits inventory in a database. Fiber circuits will be labelled throughout the run.
  • Provide accurate rack elevation drawings to Security and the networking team.
  • Utilize fiber optic and copper test equipment to verify continuity and operational standards.
  • Travel will be required to Denver metro area satellite locations.
