Individual starting salary within this range may depend on geography, experience, expertise, and education/training. Connects repairs and rearranges cable conductors. Duties may include but are not limited to the following: 1) Splices and waterproofs coverings of various types. 2) Reviews, interprets and/or analyzes prints, diagrams or schematics. Receives work orders and instructions. 3) Uses hand tools and electrical and mechanical equipment. 4) Drives company vehicle. 5) Performs some repair and maintenance functions on outside plant facilities. 6) Positions SBC as the premier provider of choice. 7) Performs all other duties comparable to the above as assigned. 8) Wears and/or uses appropriate safety equipment and follows established safety practices and procedures. Our Cable Splicing Technicians must have the following: Valid state driver’s license Non-negligent driving record Meet 275 lbs. weight limit due to safety restrictions Ability to pass a Department of Transportation Physical Ability to perceive differences in wire and cable colors Ability to lift and move up to 100lbs Qualify on pre-employment screening: Technical/Mechanical Test III (TMT III) Test study guides can be found here Ready to take your career on the road to success?
