  • In depth knowledge of cable/connector standards, crimping, soldering, and wire preparation techniques.
  • Familiarity with high voltage or specialty cables (e.g., fiber optic, shielded, aerospace grade).
  • Proficiency with CAD/PDMS, MS Office, and preferably ERP/MRP systems (e.g., MES, SAP, Oracle).

Responsibilities

  • Process & Layout Development Create and maintain detailed work instructions, process specifications, and Bill of Materials (BOMs) from engineering drawings and schematics.
  • Design and implement safe, efficient production layouts and assembly workflows for cable and harness builds.
  • Specify, source, qualify, and maintain specialized tooling (e.g., automated cutters, crimpers, heat shrink equipment, test fixtures).
  • Production Support & Continuous Improvement Provide hands on technical support on the shop floor, troubleshooting wiring, component installation, crimping, soldering, and testing issues.
  • Lead Root Cause & Corrective Action (RCA) investigations for recurring defects and non conformances.
  • Collaborate with Quality, Test, and Supply Chain teams to define inspection criteria and test requirements, integrating them into the production plan.
  • Documentation, Tooling & Training Manage and update all manufacturing documentation in line with design changes and configuration control.
  • Develop and deliver training for fabricators and production staff on new or revised assembly processes.
