About The Position

Fire alarm cable pullers (installers) are specialized low-voltage technicians responsible for routing, pulling, and securing fire alarm wiring—typically fire-rated cable—through buildings to designated device locations. They work from blueprints to install cable pathways for smoke detectors, notification appliances, and, crucially, manual pull stations

  • Pulling fire-rated cable (e.g., FPLR, FPLP) through conduit, J-hooks, and, or cable trays.
  • Understanding low-voltage systems, reading blueprints, and ensuring cable integrity.
  • Installing supports for cable and ensuring proper separation from high-voltage lines.
  • Using ladders, hand tools, and, in some cases, power equipment to route cable through walls, ceilings, and risers.
  • Adhering to NEC and local codes regarding fire safety installation
