You will be joining our M&E team as a Cable Puller working on a section of works on Hinkley Point C. Located on the scenic north Somerset coast, this is the first nuclear power station built in a generation, featuring the advanced EPR reactor design also used for Sizewell C. With the capacity to power six million homes for the next 60 years-around 7% of the UK's total energy needs-this project is a cornerstone of the nation's sustainable energy strategy. Since construction began in 2018, progress has been significant, with major structures such as reactor buildings and domes now in place and core component installation underway. Requirements

  • You must be able to obtain a HPC pass to be offered a permanent contract of employment.
  • You must be able to provide a 3-year Documented History which should include Education/Work/ or any periods of unemployment these are required for the vetting process in line with HPC protocols.
  • The site is located remotely and a bus journey of 45 minutes each way is required to gain access.
  • Valid CCNSG Safety Passport (essential).
  • Proven experience in cable pulling on large projects
  • Strong awareness of health & safety

Responsibilities

  • Pulling cables through conduits, trays, or containment systems, ensuring no twists or damage occurs.
  • Using tools like winches, rods, or fish tape to move cables, and operating specialized equipment for heavy-duty lines.
  • Working with electricians and other tradespeople, and potentially interpreting blueprints to understand cable routes, ensuring you meet project deadlines.
  • Identifying and resolving issues that arise during cable installation, like twists or obstructions.
