About The Position
BAE Systems is seeking a Cable Plant Lead to support the Special Operations Command Information Technology Enterprise Contract (SITEC3). This position involves assembling, installing, and securing various cable trays, racks, and cabinets used in telecommunications closets. The Cable Plant Lead must be fully competent to install, replace, repair, remove, terminate, and test new and existing LAN cabling and cross-connecting circuits using patch panels in accordance with applicable policies, procedures, regulations, directives, and industry best practices. Responsibilities also include maintaining core datacenter infrastructure and cable infrastructure labeling, providing guidance and performing quality assurance checks for other personnel, and performing design and analysis of telecommunication networks. The role requires creating plans and drawings detailing the layout of network infrastructure pathways and drop locations, evaluating existing infrastructure pathways, and recommending design changes to improve performance. The Cable Plant Lead must stay current with the latest technologies and installation procedures, promote a safe work environment, and provide technical/management leadership to other team members.
