GA's Electromagnetic Systems (EMS) Group focuses on the military and commercial applications of advanced electromagnetic technologies, including power generation and distribution, magnetic levitation, laser and weapons systems, and systems design and engineering. The EMS Group supports government customers, which include the Department of Defense, Department of Energy, the Department of Transportation as well as a range of commercial customers. We have an exciting opportunity for a Cable Harness Manufacturing Engineering Manager to join our team in Rancho Bernardo! This position typically reports to a manager and is responsible for managing the design, development and implementation of activities for manufacturing methods, processes and operations for new and existing products to meet production safety, quality, schedule, and cost objectives. Ensures the effective use of materials, equipment, and personnel in producing quality products at minimum costs. Manages manufacturing operations to include plant layout, sequence of operations, fabrication procedures and adapting machinery in response facility conditions. Participates with technical staff and management across departments to develop and implement current, annual, and long- term technical, schedule, quality, business and financial objectives for the manufacturing operations. Typically accomplishes objectives through subordinates and/or peers. May be responsible for decisions that impact operations where erroneous recommendations or failure to achieve results might prevent manufacturing from obtaining safety, quality, schedule and cost objectives.
