About The Position

SAIC is seeking and Cable Fabrication Technician I for our Hanahan, SC customer site. This position is 100%25 on site. The Engineering Technician will be primarily tasked with: Performing moderate to complex vehicle integration tasks to include cable routing, metal work installations, and technical support to integrate, install, modify, and perform upgrades in support of C5ISR systems. Provide occasional assistance to related support areas, including but not limited to kitting and warehouse operations. Read and follow integration documentation, written or verbal instructions, schematics, rough sketches, drawings and diagrams, layouts, and plans often requiring interpretation.

Requirements

  • Associates degree in Engineering Technology, math or science or formal electronics training from a technical school, Class A or B military school in electronics or communications, or four year apprentice program or High School Diploma or GED.
  • Two (2) years of experience with formal degree/ training or Four (4) years of related experience with a HS/ GED. Experience to include doing any of the following: integration, manufacturing; or maintenance.
  • Must be US Citizen with the ability to obtain a Public Trust clearance. Active DoD clearance accepted.
  • Must have a valid Driver's License.
  • Be able to safely complete all of the physical demands of the job in a manufacturing environment, including but not limited to the following: o Lifting, pulling, pushing and carrying up to 50 pounds, unassisted, on a regular basis. o Walking, bending, stooping, sitting, standing or squatting for extended periods. o Walk distances of at least one-half mile daily. o Repeatedly manipulating and handling tools needed for installing electronics and metal work into vehicles. Familiar with the use and operation of power tools is necessary.
  • Move and arrange heavy cable supplies and electronic equipment.
