About The Position

The Cabinetry (Millwork) Shop Assistant Manager is responsible for assisting and overseeing the operations of the cabinet shop, ensuring the fabrication, building, repair, and installation of cabinets and millwork meet quality standards and project timelines. This role involves managing team members, implementing processes, and maintaining safety and quality assurance within the shop.

Requirements

• At least two years of shop management and development experience.
• Experience in multiple areas of woodworking and cabinetry.
• Strong leadership and communication skills.
• Proven ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to lift and move weights up to 50 pounds.

Nice To Haves

• Experience in themed environments and furniture making.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the daily operation of the millwork shop team members, ensuring jobs are fabricated according to quality standards.
• Assist with the implementation of processes and procedures for the fabrication and installation of cabinets and millwork.
• Explain the proper fabrication process to team members to meet quality and production needs.
• Adapt to added scopes and changes in projects, reallocating resources as necessary.
• Study and understand blueprints and building plans for accurate fabrication.
• Prepare cut lists to maintain accuracy and production time.
• Monitor and maintain inventory levels of shop consumables.
• Maintain the shop's quality assurance program and ensure safety training for the team.
• Promote personal leadership development and growth among team members.
• Work extended hours and weekends as needed.
