About The Position
Vorst Custom Cabinets is a well-established, locally owned custom cabinetry shop seeking to add a skilled team member to our Finishing Department . We are looking for an experienced painter/finisher with a strong background in woodworking, wood preparation, and professional finishing techniques. The ideal candidate will have: Proven experience in cabinet or furniture painting/finishing Strong knowledge of wood preparation, priming, staining, and sealing Experience using spray guns and other finishing equipment The ability to match colors, apply smooth and consistent finishes, and maintain quality standards A strong commitment to quality craftsmanship , attention to detail , and professional finishing standards is essential. Other shops offer only manufacturing capabilities, or offer design services but then buy their cabinets from a supplier. At Vorst Custom Cabinets, we offer complete design and consultation services, and then we build what we design in our own facility. After it's built, we offer complete installation services.
Requirements
- Proven experience in cabinet or furniture painting/finishing
- Strong knowledge of wood preparation, priming, staining, and sealing
- Experience using spray guns and other finishing equipment
- The ability to match colors, apply smooth and consistent finishes, and maintain quality standards
- A strong commitment to quality craftsmanship , attention to detail , and professional finishing standards is essential.
Responsibilities
- Sanding, prepping, and conditioning wood surfaces for painting and staining
- Applying primer, paints, stains, and topcoats using spray equipment and hand-finishing methods
- Ensuring consistent color and finish quality across all components
- Maintaining a clean, organized finishing area and properly caring for spray/finishing equipment
