About The Position

New Era Custom Design and Cabinet Works is a custom cabinetry fabrication shop looking for top help for the Cabinet Maker position for custom millwork. We have been in business since 1979 working on some of the area's largest construction projects in Washington DC, VA, and Baltimore. Our company utilizes the latest in lean manufacturing/CNC Technology for our assemblers to build the highest quality cabinets and millwork to our clients. New Era provides on the job training and team leader assistance to get our staff up to speed quickly and efficiently building cabinetry the same day.

Requirements

• Experience in cabinet making or related field
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints
• Familiarity with hand tools and power tools
• Physical ability to lift heavy objects (50lbs+)
• Organizational skills

Nice To Haves

• CNC Router experience
• Previous experience in a custom cabinetry shop

Responsibilities

• Manually generating cut lists when required
• Knowledge of using hand tools
• Can understand and read blueprints/drawings
• Utilizing pneumatic staple gun safely
• Picking up heavy (50lbs+) cabinets safely off bench
• Ability to sort parts and stay organized
• Additional training on CNC Machinery
• Installing locks and cabinet parts with drill
• Keeping a clean and organized work area
• Knowledge and operations of laminate and wood veneer products
• Knowledge and understanding of wood joinery
• CNC Router experience not required, but helpful
