About The Position

The Cabinet Maker at Millennium Concepts, Inc. is responsible for constructing and repairing interior parts for aircraft based on approved specifications and drawings. This role requires technical expertise in trim carpentry and the operation of various woodworking machines, ensuring that all products meet company standards and specifications.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED; trade school and minimum 2 years aircraft cabinetry experience, or equivalent combination of training and experience.
  • Ability to apply basic math, including adding, subtracting, multiplying, and dividing in all units of measure.
  • Ability to communicate verbally in one-on-one situations with management and co-workers.
  • Ability to read and comprehend engineering drawings and specifications.
  • Ability to read and comprehend complex instructions and memos.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions and procedures.
  • Ability to safely use hand tools, including planes, scrapers, drills, and clamps.
  • Ability to safely operate machines including power saws, jointers, mortisers, tenoners, molders, and shapers.
  • Ability to identify proper materials and supplies according to specifications.
  • Strong attention to detail and focus on quality and accuracy.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with advanced woodworking techniques.
  • Knowledge of FAA regulations related to aircraft interiors.

Responsibilities

  • Review drawings and written specifications of articles to be constructed or repaired with minimal instruction.
  • Set up and operate machines, including power saws, jointers, mortisers, tenoners, molders, and shapers, to cut and shape materials according to approved specifications.
  • Fabricate tooling and fixtures as required from assembly drawings with assistance from the Production Supervisor.
  • Install approved hardware, such as hinges, catches, and drawer pulls, using hand tools.
  • Ensure finished products meet released drawing specifications and company standards, preparing surfaces for completion by the Finisher.
  • Create simple cut lists and bills of materials (BOM).
  • Perform preventative maintenance on machines and tools used in the shop.
  • Follow OSHA regulations and requirements.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
