The primary objective for the Cabinet Installation and Testing Technician is to perform the final assembly steps, final enclosure module quality checks, and functional testing of completed assemblies. Must be able to work 40 hours per week from Monday to Thursday with a daily schedule of 6:00am to 4:00pm.

Requirements

  • Associates degree in electronics, engineering technology or a related field; or equivalent experience proving understanding of electrical schematics and systems.
  • Must have an aptitude for electronic control equipment
  • Must be able to assemble and trouble shoot electrical systems using hand and power tools.
  • Must be able to assemble wire harnesses using solder terminations and connectors.
  • Must be able to pay attention to detail consistently
  • Must be able to work in a team environment
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to sit; talk or hear; and use hands to handle, or touch objects or controls.
  • The employee is regularly required to stand and walk.
  • The employee is required to use hands repetitively.
  • Intermittently, the employee may be required to lift up to 50 lbs. and handle up to 150 lbs.
  • Would need to stoop, bend or reach above the shoulders.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perceptions and ability to adjust focus.
  • Must be able to stand or sit as required for 10-hour shifts.

Responsibilities

  • Read point-to-point electrical diagrams, bills of material and other production instructions.
  • Interpret the available information to assemble and test traffic control cabinets.
  • Test, troubleshoot, and repair electrical and mechanical assemblies within assembled cabinets.
  • Sign and assume responsibility for final inspection certificates.
  • Rework wiring harnesses if required.
  • Cut to length, strip and terminate wire.
  • Use powered and unpowered hand tools such as screwdrivers, drills, wire cutters, crimpers, and wrenches.
  • Accurately terminate, route, and secure wires at the designated locations as described by an electrical diagram.
  • Solder wires to specified points.
  • Complete record keeping paperwork for time keeping inventory tracking and quality control.
  • Participate in continuous improvement efforts.
  • Other duties as assigned.
