Along with competitive compensation, we offer competitive benefits that would be expected including medical/Rx, vision and dental insurance, 401(k), paid time off, holiday pay, disability & life insurance, etc. Primary purpose: The Estimating & Drafting Specialist is responsible for delivering precise material take-offs, cost estimates, and technical cabinetry drawings to support the accurate and timely completion of interior design and remodeling projects. This role bridges estimating and drafting functions, supporting sales, design, operations, and production teams with clear documentation and efficient communication. This position utilizes tools including Measure Square and Cabinet Vision to execute job responsibilities with accuracy and professionalism.

Requirements

  • Basic understanding of home construction and interior build-out components.
  • Strong mathematical skills for estimating material and labor costs.
  • Effective organizational and time management abilities.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Excel, Word, and email communication tools.
  • Proficiency in Cabinet Vision version 11 or later

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with estimating software: Measure Square 8
  • 3+ years in cabinetry drafting, woodworking design, cabinet installation, or a related field.
  • Deep knowledge of cabinet construction methods and material specs.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Experience managing multiple design/estimating projects under tight deadlines.

Responsibilities

  • Analyze architectural drawings and design documents to generate flooring, tile, cabinet, and countertop material take-offs.
  • Use estimating and drafting software to calculate quantities, labor, and overall project costs.
  • Adjust estimates based on design revisions or client selection changes.
  • Maintain an up-to-date vendor database with current pricing and availability.
  • Generate 2D and 3D renderings to support design communication with builders and subcontractors.
  • Revise and maintain all drawings based on customer feedback and material changes.
  • Ensure take-offs meet internal standards and comply with project specifications.
  • Work closely with Account Coordinators, Sales, and Design teams to align estimates and drawings with client needs.
  • Provide technical insight into material compatibility, construction methods, and design feasibility.
  • Coordinate with vendors for timely and accurate pricing.
  • Participate in project handoffs and team meetings to communicate scope and deliverables.
  • Select appropriate materials and hardware for cabinetry based on client requirements and production constraints.
  • Ensure technical drawings comply with building codes, industry standards, and client specifications.
  • Support quality assurance by reviewing designs and assisting production with on-the-floor challenges.
  • Maintain organized and up-to-date records of estimates and drawings.
  • Seek ways to improve efficiency and accuracy through system improvements and training.
  • Participate in ongoing development of estimating and drafting processes, templates, and component libraries.
