About The Position

CLA is looking to hire a CFO/ Office Leader to lead our growing Client Accounting & Advisory Services (CAAS) practice. This position can be based out of anyone of our Iowa or Southern-Minnesota office locations. In this role, you will assist in managing a team accounting and finance professionals to deliver outsourced accounting solutions to clients as well as provide CFO consulting services yourself. The CAAS team has experienced significant growth over the past few years, and this role will implement strategic initiatives to continue to grow the team and scale the outsourcing operations.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree is required.
  • 8 years of relevant accounting and/or financial experience is required.
  • Experience in using personal and professional network for business development and proven record of building and managing teams through growth.
  • General knowledge of accounting software.
  • Working knowledge of QuickBooks, Intacct, and Bill.com preferred.

Nice To Haves

  • CPA not required but highly preferred.
  • Prior project management and client management experience preferred but not required.
  • Comfortable in fast paced environment and skilled in multitasking.

Responsibilities

  • Develop an external business network and become a service and industry thought leader to grow the CAAS practice.
  • Manage internal and external referrals through use of firm customer relationship management software.
  • Interact and coordinate with internal client relationship leaders to grow CAAS services with existing CLA clients seamlessly.
  • Lead Proposal writing and presentation efforts as needed.
  • Be accountable for putting processes in place to ensure exceptional client service.
  • Be responsible for outsourcing practice metrics including team utilization, revenue growth, and profitability.
  • Frequently partner with client's leadership on operational and strategic issues as they arise, providing recommendations based on financial analysis of projections, cost identification and allocation, and revenue/expense analysis.
  • Monitor progress of budgets and present operational metrics.
  • Develop full knowledge of GAAP and deep understanding of financial and operational aspects of specific industries.
  • Ensure financial staff maintains financial record systems in accordance with appropriate principles and monitors the use of funds.
  • Manage cash flow and forecasting, directing financial accounting.
  • Manage capital planning, risk management, and board of director interactions.
  • Effectively manage multiple client engagements.
  • Build strong client relationships and become a key member of client management teams.
