Location Euclid Facility Euclid Hospital Department Job Code T40035 Shift Days Schedule 7:00am-3:30pm Job Summary Administers anesthesia to patients rendering them insensitive to pain during surgery. Monitors the patient's physical reaction to the anesthetic and informs the physician of any adverse condition. Administers emergency measures when complications arise. Job Details Cleveland Clinic is currently seeking a CAA for a part-time position at Euclid Hospital. CAA experience is required for this position. Requirements

Bachelor's Degree or higher from an institution of higher learning accredited by an organization recognized by the board of regents.
Certification by the National Commission for Certification of Anesthesiologist Assistants.
Current, valid certificate of registration.
Written practice protocol consistent with section 4760.09 of the Revised Code.
Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) through American Heart Association (AHA) are required.
Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision.
Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.

Responsibilities

Obtains a comprehensive patient history and performs relevant elements of a physical exam.
Discusses findings and anesthetic plan with supervising anesthesiologist before induction of anesthesia.
Reviews the patient's condition with the anesthesiologist immediately prior to the induction of anesthesia.
Pretests and calibrates anesthesia delivery systems.
Administers blood, blood products and supportive fluids.
Other duties as assigned.
