About The Position

Works closely with the Project Superintendent and project manager, as required, in formulating, discussing and finalizing the overall plan of operations, job layout, job schedule, etc. Manages the day-to-day work of crafts and subcontractors in field, delegates work through foreman and/or subcontractor representatives. May work with subcontractors of different cultures and languages to ensure quality and minimize re-work. Maintains regular communications with project staff to ensure work complies with drawings, specifications and schedule. Reviews plans and specifications of job, job budget, and estimate with project manager, quality control manager, and project superintendent to ensure that quantities, values, manpower requirements and deliveries of various divisions of job are understood. Participates in weekly progress meetings with subcontractors. Assists in preparation of plan at beginning of job, for receiving, storing and handling materials as required. Assists in resolving construction problems (lack of productivity, work interfaces, etc.) as Maintains best possible relationship with owner and architectural-engineering firm associated with job. Strives to develop spirit of cooperation and respect between Caddell and representatives of the other partners on the project. Performs additional assignments per project manager’s and project superintendent’s direction

Requirements

  • Demonstrated ability to effectively manage costs and control schedule.
  • Excellent knowledge of safety requirements.
  • Ability to coach, lead and motivate multinational and multi-disciplined employees.
  • Shows leadership, concise execution of plans, vision of project future, and effective communication of vision to subordinates, must have integrity and strong communication skills.
  • Minimum high school diploma/GED and 15 years total construction management experience required.
  • Current clearance, or the ability to obtain, a Department of Defense minimum secret security clearance required.

Nice To Haves

  • Four-year degree in building science, construction management or engineering and 10 years total construction management experience (at least 15 years total construction management experience) preferred.
  • OSHA 10 hour/supervisor/planning & scheduling helpful.
