About The Position

The Automated Digital Network System (ADNS) is an Acquisition Category II program that integrates and adapts Commercial‑Off‑the‑Shelf (COTS) and Government‑Off‑the‑Shelf (GOTS) hardware and software to deliver the Navy’s tactical IP routing and switching capability. As the primary Wide Area Network (WAN) transport system for afloat units, ADNS enables secure ship‑to‑shore connectivity and optimizes the use of available satellite and line‑of‑sight bandwidth. Sigma Defense is seeking a self‑directed, highly motivated C4I Systems/Network Engineer to support this mission. Requirements

  • 3+ years supporting Navy C4I systems (ADNS, TACNET, CANES, or similar).
  • 2+ years administering Red Hat Enterprise Linux in operational or enterprise environments.
  • 2+ years hands-on network troubleshooting (routing, switching, enclave connectivity).
  • Experience using Microsoft Office Suite.
  • CompTIA Security+ CE.
  • Must be a U.S. citizen.
  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in computer science, information systems, software engineering, or a related technical field of study.
  • May substitute degree with 8+ years of relevant engineering experience.
  • Candidate must possess or have the ability to obtain an active Secret security clearance or higher.
  • Clearance may be sponsored for the right candidate.

Nice To Haves

  • Prior fleet IT/ET/CT experience or Navy help desk/Tier II–III support is preferred.
  • DoD 8570 IAT Level II (Security+ certification).
  • Red Hat (RHCSA/RHCE) or equivalent Linux certification is preferred.
  • CCNA or equivalent network certification is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provides technical expertise across Navy tactical networks with emphasis on ADNS operations, Red Hat Enterprise Linux administration, and TACNET system support.
  • Supports the configuration, troubleshooting, and sustainment of shipboard and shore-based network architectures.
  • Ensures reliable multi-enclave connectivity across SATCOM and line of sight transport paths.
  • Applies hands-on experience with routing, switching, enclave services, and system hardening.
  • Collaborate with fleet operators, help desk personnel, and program stakeholders to maintain mission-ready communications capabilities.
