We have an immediate opening for a C2 Integration Subject Matter Expert to support Joint Missile Defense in Huntsville, AL. In this role, you will perform as lead systems engineer for next-generation missile defense integration, focus on the "brain" of the kill web-defining how data moves from sensor to shooter across domains to enable fire control and assist the government in defining how disparate Service capabilities fuse data to form a single, engaging picture and execute engagement chains with fire-control quality precision.

Requirements

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Systems Engineering, Computer Science, Physics, or related technical field
  • Experience: 20+ years of experience in defense systems engineering, with at least 10 years dedicated to C2, Battle Management, or Fire Control
  • BMC2 Systems: Direct experience with Battle Management Command and Control (BMC2) systems and their architectural constructs
  • Data Links: Deep knowledge of Tactical Data Links (TDL) and message standards (Link-16, JREAP, VMF, etc.)
  • Track Management: Strong understanding of tracking logic (correlation, fusion, conflict resolution) and network participation modes
  • Engagement Chains: Experience analyzing architectures for "sensor-to-shooter" loops and fire control closures

Nice To Haves

  • Experience identifying and assessing technologies for JADC2 (Joint All-Domain Command and Control) or similar multi-domain initiatives
  • Previous experience supporting a Capability Developer or Program Office in a SETA capacity
  • Familiarity with Mission Engineering principles-mapping system interoperability directly to mission thread execution
  • Master's degree

Responsibilities

  • Plan & Execute Technical Tasks: Develop and manage detailed engineering plans and integration roadmaps on behalf of the customer, ensuring critical milestones are met and technical resources are aligned with program priorities
  • Lead Joint C2 Architectural Analysis: Define engineering strategies, behaviors, and information exchange requirements that enable seamless interoperability between Service-specific C2 nodes
  • Analyze Multi-Domain Fire Control: Evaluate "Kill Webs" and sensor-to-shooter loops to ensure architectures support Fire Control Quality (FCQ) data
  • Optimize Battle Management (BM) Logic: Advise the government on technical trade-offs between battle management architectures, assessing impacts on engagement timelines, fire control loops, and network resiliency
  • Support Capability Development: Draft and refine requirements for future C2 increments, translating broad operational needs into specific engineering specifications
  • Mitigate Integration Risks: Identify and resolve risks related to joint BMC2
  • Verify Vendor Compliance: Review vendor architectures and interface implementations to ensure they meet mission performance parameters
  • Align with Warfighter Needs: Collaborate with combatant commands to identify current battle management gaps and evaluate proposed architectures against realistic operational scenarios
