About The Position

The C2 Coder supports the development, integration, and sustainment of Command and Control (C2) software systems. This role focuses on writing, modifying, and maintaining code that supports operational awareness, data flow, and system interoperability. The C2 Coder works closely with systems engineers, software engineers, and end users to implement reliable, mission-focused solutions. This is a hands-on coding role for someone who likes clear requirements, structured environments, and software that actually gets used.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field
  • 1–3 years of professional coding or software development experience (internships count)
  • Proficiency in one or more programming languages such as C++, Java, Python, or similar
  • Basic understanding of networking concepts and data exchange
  • Experience using version control systems (Git or similar)
  • Ability to work from requirements and follow structured development processes
  • Strong problem-solving and communication skills

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with C2, defense, aerospace, or mission-critical systems
  • Familiarity with real-time or distributed systems
  • Exposure to Linux-based development environments
  • Understanding of secure coding practices
  • Experience working in regulated or controlled environments

Responsibilities

  • Develop, modify, and maintain software supporting C2 systems
  • Implement features based on system requirements and technical specifications
  • Support integration of software with sensors, networks, and external systems
  • Troubleshoot, debug, and resolve software defects
  • Participate in system testing, validation, and verification activities
  • Assist with software documentation, version control, and configuration management
  • Collaborate with systems, cybersecurity, and engineering teams
  • Support fielded systems through updates, fixes, and technical support as needed
  • Follow coding standards, security practices, and development processes
