The C-12 / King Air (B200 / PT6) Army Transport Aircraft Mechanic (FAA A&P) performs organizational and intermediate level maintenance on C-12 aircraft. A valid FAA A&P Certificate is required. The level of Aircraft Mechanic is based on years of specific C-12 hands-on A&P mechanic experience. US Citizenship is required to obtain the US Govt Secret Clearance and for facility/base access at this site location. The mechanic is responsible for servicing, troubleshooting, repairing, and modifying aircraft systems to ensure continued airworthiness. These tasks are performed on avionics & electrical systems, engines, flight controls, and airframe components. Repairs are performed using hand tools, power tools, machines, and equipment such as shears, sheet metal brake, welding equipment, rivet gun, and drills. Compliance with aircraft records procedures outlined in DA PAM 738-751 is necessary. The mechanic must know and understand the functions and requirements of computerized maintenance software, perform aircraft recovery missions as necessary, and perform engine run or taxi operations. Certification must be obtained within twelve (12) months of employment. The mechanic reads and interprets manufacturers’ maintenance manuals, service bulletins, and other specifications to determine feasibility and method of repairing or replacing malfunctioning or damaged components. Additional duties may be assigned as required.
