About The Position

This August, we are excited to offer an immersive, week-long seminar designed to highlight the exciting world of software engineering and cutting-edge technology in our Chicago headquarters. Through this program, we aim to bring together applicants who promote inclusion and diversity in the workforce, champion underrepresented talent, and are interested in receiving an inside “sneak peek” of life as a software engineer in the options market-making industry. As a participant of our Sneak Peek Week from June 1st - 5th, 2026, you’ll dive into the world of technology and market-making, gaining hands-on experience in a fast-paced and innovative environment. Throughout the week, you’ll have the opportunity to collaborate with various engineering teams to gain an in-depth understanding of Akuna’s systems architecture. Does using cutting-edge technology while working on high performance/low latency systems sound like fun? Requirements

Proficient in modern C++ programming
Graduating between December 2026 – June 2027
Pursuing a BS/MS/PhD in a technical field – Computer Science/Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, or a related/equivalent field
Able to attend the program in person at Akuna’s Chicago headquarters (June 1st - 5th)
Strong analytic and problem-solving skills
Ability to quickly solve nuanced technical problems and to effectively verify those solutions
Passion for innovation and building systems from the ground up
Ability to adapt to an ever-changing environment
Self-starter attitude with the ability to work independently
Legal authorization to work in the U.S. is required on the first day of employment, including F-1 students using OPT or STEM
