POSITION OVERVIEW: As the Regional Manager of C-Store Operations, you will lead operational excellence in the region to achieve financial and non-financial goals. You will lead District Managers and Team Members at all levels to deliver a best-in-class experience for our customers. Building a high-performing team through targeted development of District Managers and store management will be a critical focus to ensure the delivery of overarching and lasting results. You will play a key role in the strategic planning process and being the principal change agent responsible for initiatives and behavioral changes within the region. Requirements

  • Must be at least 21 years of age.
  • 10-15 years plus of progressive related experience including experience at a District Manager / Sr. Director level
  • 5 years of managing multi-level teams
  • Ability to be in the field, on-site actively engaged in the C-Store operations as and when required.
  • Progressive experience in retail merchandising
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent relevant experience
  • Strong leadership, people development, mentoring and coaching abilities
  • Expert knowledge of industry trends and competition
  • Demonstrated in-depth knowledge in financial analysis and workforce planning
  • Ability to inspire and motivate teams, and advocate and lead teams through change
  • Financial analysis skills sufficient to interpret operating statements and other financial reporting data, manage budgets, and control inventory
  • Demonstrated experience in developing company-wide strategy in convenience store environment, analyzing market trends, and translating those insights into business actions
  • Ability to synthesize strategy and proactively identify opportunities to meet and/or accelerate goals
  • Willingness to listen and understand questions; ability to distill complex concepts
  • Ability to influence senior leaders across the organization to achieve strategic objectives
  • Positive, enthusiastic attitude with capacity for dealing with ambiguity, learning quickly and executing to achieve business impact

Responsibilities

  • Plan and lead the activities of all stores within the assigned area of operation, including full profit and loss responsibility, while acting within the scope of company objectives and policies to accomplish regional and divisional goals.
  • Serve as a role model and advocate for our company values and culture. Driving collaboration, communication, teamwork, and engagement of Team Members and customers is paramount to our success.
  • Assess Human Resources needs of the region, and coach direct reports in the identification, selection, training, timely evaluation, and development of management talent.
  • Be responsible for the productive deployment and direction of the operation’s team members who provide support services to the stores.
  • Evaluate and report on competitors' strengths and weaknesses relative to pricing, product movement, management talent and customer service focus.
  • Develop strategies to implement process reviews and improvements to meet the changing needs of our customers and our business.
  • Partner with the management team to identify key new areas for focus and alignment of resources to execute on the strategy.
  • Provide on-site operational direction to District Managers and store management, ensuring the achievement of financial objectives, including sales and profit, expense control, productivity, and the smooth functioning of day-to-day operations of all units.
  • Conduct financial statement reviews with District Managers.
  • Develop a financial plan/projection to achieve targeted regional profitability goals.
  • Lead workforce planning for the region including budgeting labor, staffing and headcount based upon revenue generation and other factors.
  • Conduct frequent store visits to coach and recognize teams, and ensure compliance with all programs, act as a role model and coach of customer engagement and experience.
  • Meet one on one with respective District Managers to build rapport, coach, guide and train on how to ensure their stores are meeting expectations, both for employee engagement and customer experience.
  • Support the management team in building strategic thinking skills and capability across the organization to improve decision making, prioritization, dynamic resource allocation and innovation.
  • Focuses on customers by anticipating customer need, overcoming obstacles, and continually striving to improve customer satisfaction.
  • Build a sustainable onboarding and training program to increase retention and employee engagement.
  • Partner collaboratively with the other Regional Manager of Operations to ensure projects, initiatives, and communications are cascaded consistently across all districts.
