Peraton is seeking an experienced Software Engineer to work in a small, collaborative team that focuses on the development of the Intelligence Situation Awareness Tool (ISAT), a Tactical Data Processor (TDP). ISAT works with tactical data in a variety of formats and provides a rich set of analysis tools to help operators see the big picture. ISAT supports multiple missions, primarily for the Navy, including the Theater Mission Planning Center (TMPC) program, part of the Navy's Tomahawk Missile program. As a member of the ISAT team, you will be responsible for developing and maintaining proprietary software, offering full lifecycle support from design to deployment, and ensuring compliance with cybersecurity standards.

  • Learn TMPC ISAT features and functions, including developing an understanding of tactical data
  • Participate in all phases of software development, including requirements analysis, design, code, test, and documentation
  • Implement security requirements, including STIGs (Security Technical Implementation Guides) using cybersecurity best practices
  • Support system integration and regression testing in both classified and unclassified environments
  • Learn the program processes and procedures
  • Contribute to the refinement of the team/project standards and conventions
  • Engage in Agile ceremonies (e.g., Sprint Planning, Daily Stand-up)
  • Participate in technical exchange meetings, product demonstrations and training with the customers, with occasional travel to customer locations
  • Experience: 2 years with BS/BA or 0 years with MS/MA or 6 years of experience in lieu of a degree
  • Must be a US Citizen and have an active SECRET clearance or the ability to obtain one
  • Experience with C#
  • Operational familiarity with configuration management tools, including Azure DevOps
  • Proficiency with Visual Studio or equivalent development tools
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office products
  • Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams
  • Working knowledge of C++ (highly desirable)
  • Working knowledge of relational databases such as MSFT SQL Server or PostgreSQL
  • Practical familiarity with microservices, Kubernetes, Docker, or OpenShift
  • Military background in command and control, communication, computers, intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance (C4ISR)
  • Mathematics background and algorithm development
  • Familiarity with STIGs and cybersecurity best practices
  • Knowledgeable about Static Code Analysis (SCA) tools such as SonarQube and Fortify
  • Salary range: $80,000 - $128,000
  • Eligibility for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay
