To represent the Governor in issues involving DOT and to provide leadership as the department strives to be a transparent, efficient and accountable institution in which safety, performance management and customer satisfaction are of highest priority. This is paraprofessional human resource work responsible for Family Medical Leave Act (FMLA), Paid Family Medical Leave (PFML), Workers' Compensation, and Pension related functions assigned to the Department of Transportation's Human Resources Office. The position provides front line HR support requiring research and resolution of HR issues by collecting, analyzing, and evaluating data, identifying the cause of issues, and making recommendations. In addition, the position interprets and ensures compliance with laws, rules, regulations, and Collective Bargaining Agreements (CBA). Paraprofessional human resource work is characterized by the application of human resource laws, rules and regulations, providing technical assistance to employees, applicants and others in standard human resource transactions, human resource services, and maintaining personnel files.
