About The Position

This role is crucial for ensuring the safety and efficiency of our facility’s operations. You will play an integral part in various aspects of barge cleaning, truck transfer operations, and facility maintenance, contributing to our overall success and operational excellence. As a C Operator, you will assist in the safe and efficient handling of all barge cleaning and truck transfer operations. Your responsibilities will include key tasks such as stripping, ventilation, and tank mucking, as well as preparing shore tanks for various processes. Working alongside your colleagues and management, your role will focus on supporting facility upkeep and operational tasks, maximizing the effectiveness and safety of our logistics operations. Stolt Cleaning and Environmental Services Inc., a division of Stolt-Nielsen Limited (SNL), is the specialist in transporting bulk liquids: chemicals, clean petroleum products, vegetable oils, biofuels, and oleochemicals. What you will be doing In the role of C Operator, you will work closely with the Operations Supervisor and Shift Foreman to assist in various tasks concerning barge cleaning and maintenance operations. Your day-to-day activities will entail responsibilities such as stripping, ventilation, rust removal, and degassing to prepare tanks for entry and ensure safe conditions. You will collaborate with Marine Chemists for necessary certifications, contributing to operations that involve product transfer and tank preparations. Additionally, you will support facility maintenance tasks, such as landscaping and general repairs, adhering to safety and efficiency standards. You'll also be engaged in various phases of drumming and assist in additional operational duties as instructed by management. With proficiency in reading, math, language, and mechanical skills, you will work to optimize the handling processes and safety protocols within our operations.

Requirements

  • Proficient reading, math, language, and mechanical skills.
  • Ability to work overtime as required.

Nice To Haves

  • Preferred High School Diploma or equivalent (G.E.D.).
  • Minimum of 2 years industry experience preferred.
  • Knowledge of chemical compatibility and solubility for line and tank cleaning preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in all aspects of barge cleaning including stripping, ventilation, rust removal, tank mucking, flaring, degassing, and tank entry.
  • Support shore tank preparation including cleaning, water separation, product transfer, truck transfer, and gauging.
  • Aid in pre-inspections, pre-rigging, and assisting Marine Chemist for gas-free certifications.
  • Perform maintenance tasks such as mowing grass, edging, trash removal, painting, and other assignments from the Operations Supervisor.
  • Assist with drumming processes involving products, rust, waste, pads, and other items.
  • Carry out other operational duties as instructed by management.
