The Pool Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) at Bryn Mawr is a vital role within our vibrant retirement community, responsible for providing essential nursing care and support to residents. This position requires a commitment to resident dignity and independence, ensuring that each individual receives personalized care while promoting their emotional and physical well-being. The role involves working collaboratively with healthcare staff and participating in care planning and recreational activities, all while adhering to state and federal regulations.

  • Performs basic nursing skills, demonstrating knowledge and competence in assisting residents in ADLs.
  • Manages emergency situations and responds accordingly.
  • Works cooperatively with residents, family, and co-workers.
  • Assists residents in obtaining and maintaining their highest level of independence regarding physical mobility and emotional well-being.
  • Meets with healthcare staff in care planning, services, programs, and activities.
  • Creates an atmosphere of warmth and personal interest, ensuring a calm home-like environment.
  • Follows dietary recommendations and care plans.
  • Adheres to infection control and safety standards.
  • Assists in recreational activities such as parties, musical events, games, and crafts.
  • Reports status changes immediately to supervisors as appropriate.
  • Completes all necessary paperwork at the end of the shift regarding care and treatment to each resident.
  • Attends and participates in annual mandated in-services and educational programs that promote professional growth and development.
  • Minimum of 1 to 2 years experience in a Skilled Nursing setting.
  • Certified C.N.A. enrolled in good standing in the State of PA.
  • Ability to read, write, speak, and understand the English language.
  • Ability to make independent decisions when circumstances warrant such action.
  • Ability to deal tactfully with personnel, residents, family members, visitors, regulatory agencies, and the general public.
  • Patience, tact, a cheerful disposition, and enthusiasm, as well as the willingness to handle difficult residents.
  • Ability to move intermittently throughout the day.
  • Ability to cope with the mental and emotional stress of the position.
  • Ability to assist in the evacuation of residents.
  • Must be a US Citizen or Green Card holder.
