Boeing Global Services (BGS) is currently hiring for a broad range of experience levels including Associate, Experienced and Lead-Level Structural Analysis Engineers to support the C-17 Program Engineering Team. This position is primarily based in San Antonio, TX., but we are open to considering candidates for placement in Long Beach, CA. The C-17 Globemaster III is a large military transport aircraft with unique capabilities, combining the attributes of a strategic airlifter with those of a tactical airlifter. Currently, C-17 operators plan to operate them until at least the 2070s, which will require extensive engineering support to monitor, modify, repair, and improve the fleet. In support of this goal, C-17 Structures is looking for motivated individuals to join the team to support the Aircraft Structural Integrity Program.   • Work with other C-17 Stress Analysts to qualify repairs and modifications to the C-17 aircraft utilizing computer-aided and classical methods.
  • Document and publish/release structural designs and analysis results.
  • Become skilled in C-17 specific Tools, Processes, and Documentation.
  • Work towards eligibility to be granted C-17 Delegated Engineering Authority.
  • Supervise and train early-career team members.
  • Some travel may be required.
  • Ability to work on-site 5 days per week.
  • May be asked to support other programs or perform other duties as needed.
  • Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited course of study in engineering, engineering technology (includes manufacturing engineering technology), chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science, or computer science.
  • 1+ years' experience with aircraft structural analysis.
  • 1+ years' experience with finite element modeling structural analysis methods and tools.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills to communicate with leaders and colleagues in an engineering environment.
  • 5+ years' experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience (Experienced Level), including design and repair of aerospace metallic and composite structures and collaboration with team members.
  • 9+ years' experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience (Lead Level), including design and repair of aerospace metallic and composite structures, collaboration with team members, and leading, teaching within discipline.
  • Preferred: Use of NASTRAN, PATRAN, CAS-D, ABAQUS, NX, Teamcenter, CSW.
  • Support of McDonnell Douglas Corporation products such as: DC-8, DC-9/MD-80/MD-90/717, DC-10/KC-10/MD-11, C-17, F-15, F/A-18, AV-8B.
