About The Position

The Boeing Test & Evaluation (BT&E) organization is seeking a C-17 Flight Test Engineering Manager to join our team in Edwards, AFB, CA. This position involves managing employees performing activities within multiple engineering disciplines, developing and executing project and process plans, implementing policies and procedures, and setting operational goals. The role also includes acquiring resources for projects, providing technical management of suppliers, and leading process improvements. The manager will develop and maintain relationships with customers, stakeholders, peers, partners, and direct reports, while providing oversight and approval of technical approaches, products, and processes.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology, Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry or non-US equivalent qualifications directly related to the work statement
  • 5+ years of experience in an engineering technical lead or management role
  • 5+ years’ experience working across functional groups and engineering disciplines on a Military aircraft program
  • Experience synthesizing program/project/SOW requisition into actionable and measurable tasks
  • Experience with systems engineering, configuration management, and quality management functions, processes and requirements

Nice To Haves

  • 3+ years of experience in flight test engineering or related engineering disciplines supporting complex aerospace programs
  • 3+ years of experience leading multidisciplinary engineering teams in test planning, execution, and data analysis across multiple functions
  • 3+ years of experience in C-17 engineering and existing engineering technical network across engineering groups/skills
  • 3+ years of experience working on C-17 design/repair for structural/avionic/electronic/electrical systems/subsystems
  • 3+ years of experience applying program and project management principles (scheduling, risk management, cost control, and performance tracking)
  • 1+ years of experience with direct involvement in mentoring, developing and evaluating engineering personnel across various disciplines and/or functions
  • 1+ years of experience developing and applying engineering processes, procedures and process-based metrics to drive efficiency
  • Familiarity with DCMAI 8210.1C/D
  • Skilled at presenting technical content to program leadership, Air Force customers, and integrated test teams with clarity and precision
  • Ability to negotiate, influence, and build consensus with diverse stakeholders including government, program management, and engineering leadership
  • Ability to understand and convey the big picture and the inter/Intra-relationships of skills and activities at the system and aircraft level
  • Ability to communicate complex concepts clearly across different audiences and varying levels of the organizations/Military ranks
