About The Position
Shopbop, the leading online fashion boutique and Amazon subsidiary, is seeking a Summer Buying Intern to join our team. Immersed in a 10 Week Program, you will be an integral part of our buying operations, supporting vendor relationships, purchase order management, and reporting processes that drive our business goals. You will collaborate with the Buying team to maintain optimal inventory levels, resolve SIMs, process RTVs, and contribute to the success of our fashion-forward product assortment. This position requires a keen eye for fashion trends, excellent organizational skills, and a results-oriented mindset to thrive in our fast-paced retail environment.
Requirements
- Currently working towards a bachelor's degree in retail merchandising or related field with an expected conferral date between December 2026 and May 2027
- Work, internship, or other leadership experience in a professional environment
- Computer skills, including Microsoft Office (e.g., Excel, Word) and ability to quickly learn new systems
- Familiarity with and interest in fashion trends, designers, and ecommerce
- Strong attention to detail

Responsibilities
- Assist with vendor set up, purchase order entry and maintenance while ensuring accuracy and timeliness of all documentation.
- Monitor product selling performance and identify reorder opportunities to maintain optimal inventory levels.
- Resolve SIMs (Supplier Information Management) issues and process RTVs (Return to Vendor) entries efficiently.
- Generate and analyze reports for the Buying team to support data-driven decision making.
- Build and maintain professional relationships with key vendors through effective communication and follow-through.
- Apply retail math skills to perform business analyses that support buying decisions and inventory optimization.
