Job Title : Buyer Reporting To: Manager, Supply Chain Work Schedule: Onsite – Murphy, NC To be considered for a Buyer role, here’s what you’ll need to bring with you: Bachelors degree with 3 years related experience OR Associates degree with 6 years related experience OR a combination of equivalent education and experience. Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite with good written and oral presentation skills Must be able to read and understand complex technical drawings preferred. Attention to detail, ability to handle complex problems, negotiation skills, technical experience and skills related to product and supply chain, and a focus on results and customer satisfaction. Working knowledge of ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning) systems. Experience in electronic component procurement preferred. Prior experience of the procurement of materials per the requirements of the Material Resource Planning (MRP) system from approved suppliers.

Requirements

Responsibilities

  • Negotiate pricing, place purchase orders and obtain delivery confirmations
  • Expedite purchase orders as required
  • Obtain quotations as directed by Sales and Engineering
  • Insure accuracy, and proper signature authority, of all placed purchase orders
  • Email orders and engineering documents as needed
  • File purchase orders
  • Function as the focal point as problems arise between receiving, accounts payable, quality and the supplier
  • Maintain LN Item Data and supplier master file as required
  • Maintain KanBan and consignment purchase orders as required
  • Insure all off-shore procurement and the drop shipping of material is completed according to established procedures
  • Establish and report on cost savings goals
  • Executing open order reports to ensure on time delivery
  • Manage supplier relationships and performance issues (foreign and domestic)
  • Ability to work within the ethical boundaries of Moog policy with team members and other department personnel including; production, planning, inspection, receiving, accounting and maintenance.
  • Onboarding suppliers and maintaining supporting documentation.
  • Continuous Improvement - Proactive efforts with supply base to improve on time delviery, quality, and reduce cost. These include internal as well as external suppliers. (Examples are LTA's (Long Term Agreements) and vender managed inventory.)
