About The Position

This role supports high-volume purchasing activities to ensure smooth operations while the team focuses on a major project and prepares for an upcoming ERP transition. This position is ideal for a junior buyer who can efficiently manage a steady flow of requisitions and communicate effectively with internal customers.

Requirements

1-2 years of purchasing or buying experience.
Ability to process high volumes of requisitions and purchase orders.
Strong spreadsheet skills, particularly in Excel; familiarity with Smartsheets is a plus.
Experience in reviewing basic inventory activities, such as over-issues and returns.
Clear and proactive communication with internal stakeholders.
Ability to manage shortages and delivery updates.
Readiness to quickly adapt in a fast-moving environment.
Familiarity with ERP systems, with any system being acceptable; Macola is a plus.

Nice To Haves

Life sciences or biotech purchasing experience.
Familiarity with scientific terminology and metric units.
Experience with Smartsheets.
Exposure to ERP transitions or system upgrades.
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
Ability to interpret simple data to inform purchasing decisions.

Responsibilities

Process purchase requisitions and issue purchase orders, primarily through web-based ordering.
Support internal stakeholders by ensuring timely order placement and clear status communication.
Review basic inventory activities, such as over-issues and returns, to guide purchasing decisions.
Communicate material shortages, delivery updates, and potential impacts to teams.
Maintain and update tracking tools using Excel and Smartsheets.
Collaborate with purchasing and operations teams to maintain stability during high volume periods.
Potential involvement in ERP transition activities depending on the individual's purchasing skills.
