About The Position

We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Buyer to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for procuring raw materials, managing inventory, and establishing effective supplier relationships. This role requires a strong understanding of supply chain management and the ability to work closely with suppliers and internal teams.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Procurement, or Supply Chain Management preferred.
  • 3+ years of purchasing experience or extensive internship with direct buying responsibility.
  • Experience in procurement within a manufacturing environment is beneficial.
  • Proficiency in negotiating pricing and managing purchase orders.
  • Experience with supply chain management, SAP, and ERP systems.
  • Good computer skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Effective interpersonal and communication skills, including negotiation skills.

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge of MRP/SAP is a plus.
  • APICS certification is beneficial.

Responsibilities

  • Utilize MRP logic and forecasts for procurement of raw materials, subcontracted services, semi-finished goods, and indirect items.
  • Manage inventory to maximize turnover while avoiding stock-outs.
  • Oversee Purchase Orders from issuance to closure, resolving blocked invoices and discrepancies, and identifying when expedited shipment is needed.
  • Provide recurring and regular forecasts to suppliers.
  • Assist with selection and qualification of suppliers based on commercial and technical capabilities.
  • Establish effective supplier relationships to mitigate risks in the supply chain.
  • Collaborate with Commodity/Purchasing Managers to enhance the supply chain and assist with the selection and qualification of new suppliers.
  • Support management in completing supplier audits and scorecards.
  • Ensure suppliers adhere to defined requirements as per Supplier Expectations.
