About The Position

The Buyer is responsible for sourcing, negotiating, and purchasing goods and services needed by the organization. This role ensures cost‑effective procurement while maintaining quality standards and timely delivery. The Buyer collaborates with suppliers and internal teams to support operational needs. This is a full‑time, on‑site position requiring attendance in the office five days per week. Location: Daily onsite presence at our San Jose headquarters in alignment with our Flexible Work policy Reports to: Manager Procurement

Requirements

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, Accounting, or a related field (preferred).
  • Knowledge: Understanding of supply‑chain management and purchasing procedures.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency with Microsoft Office and ERP systems.
  • Core Competencies: Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills; ability to work collaboratively with diverse teams.

  • Experience with purchasing management systems.
  • Familiarity with accounts payable/receivable processes.
  • Knowledge of contract management best practices.
  • Ability to thrive under pressure and meet deadlines.

Responsibilities

  • Identify, evaluate, and recommend suppliers based on price, quality, service, and reliability.
  • Negotiate contracts, pricing, and terms with vendors and report to leadership.
  • Issue purchase orders and track order status (including delivery dates).
  • Maintain accurate procurement records and documentation.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies and procurement regulations.
  • Resolve supplier issues related to quality, delivery, or pricing.
  • Conduct market research to identify new products and cost‑saving opportunities.
  • Build and maintain strong, respectful supplier relationships.
  • Partner with finance, operations, and warehouse teams to align procurement activities.
  • Process various purchases (e.g., gift cards, online orders such as Amazon).
  • Manage sample requests: review, place orders, track shipments, and maintain internal records.
  • Oversee the company vehicle‑leasing program: recommend vendors, negotiate leases, ensure compliance, and perform cost analysis.
  • Lead the Request for Proposal (RFP) process: review requester documentation, evaluate bids, and announce award decisions.
