About The Position

Duties include purchasing of all maintenance, repair & operating supplies for the organization. Responsibilities include the purchasing of all items in accordance with the approved purchasing policies & procedure manual. Negotiation of pricing contracts with vendors to obtain best offer available within time constraints of the requirements. Establish a matrix of core suppliers for key commodities & track their competitiveness.

Requirements

• Follow up on previously issued purchase orders to ensure delivery date accuracy
• Scheduling of steel & transportation needed to support the production schedule
• Gather data & analyze bids as requested
• Check requisitions for completeness and clarity
• Check all purchase orders issued for accuracy & completeness
• Must work well in a team environment
• Strong negotiating skills
• Bachelor’s degree desired, but not mandatory depending on experience
